Summary of the Third Echonet Consortium Forum

On Wednesday, March 24, the Third Echonet Consortium Forum was held at Keidanren Hall in Tokyo's Otemachi district. Some 250 individuals from 59 member companies participated and enjoyed a lively exchange of opinions and information. This Forum centered on an explanation of Version 0.7 of the Echonet standards.

Following opening remarks by Chairman Reiji Sano, the Forum proceeded as follows:

  3. Presentation on home network applications (HII House, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.)

  4. Explanation of Echonet standards draft

  5. Informal get-together


The Forum provided participants with an explanation of the background, objectives, and content of Version 0.7 of the Echonet standards.
Content was explained in reference to a hypothetical system to help participants understand how the standards relate to such areas as device development and the building, installation, and operation of systems.
