Aiming an international standard proposed
by Japan, the maintenance interface specification of home appliances
was proposed at IEC TC100 and have accepted as an international
standard. It is the first time for the standard to be accepted as
an international standard in the home network field. The ECHONET
could take a leadership of international standardization in the
field. It is expected that the accomplishment encourages the other
5 proposals including core parts of the ECHONET Specification to
be accepted as international standards.
